CSA Program

Welcome to the home of the Mapleville Farm CSA! Signup for the 2024 season is now open.

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. It is a food system that allows the member to invest directly into a local producer. It works like a subscription, where the member pays an upfront fee and receives a box of fresh vegetables every week for the growing season. This farmer/member relationship removes the middleman and provides the farmer with the capital they need at the time of year when, traditionally, income from vegetable production is scarce. The member adopts the risks and rewards of growing food alongside their farmer, with the rewards being a plentiful harvest of the freshest, quality produce for their meals each week and the direct involvement in the livelihood of a local business.

So when does this happen?
The Mapleville Farm 2024 CSA season runs 13 weeks, from Saturday, July 13 until October 5.
When do I pick up my veggies?
Pick-ups for the 2024 CSA are at Mapleville Farm on Saturdays between the hours of 12:00 and 5:00pm.
How much does a share cost?
The cost for a share is $450.00. When you break this down, you are only paying a fraction of the average American grocery bill, and you know your produce will be of the highest quality. Please note: if paying online there is an additional $16.78 transaction fee.
How many will a share feed?
This is a difficult question to answer because it depends largely on your individual diet and lifestyle. It is not meant to make up a whole diet, but part of a healthy one. We have happily fed both couples and families with children on our shares. If you have a plant-heavy diet or cook all the time, take it into consideration when planning your grocery shopping. The shares shown in these photos are real shares and are representative of a typical week's veggies.
What kinds of vegetables do I get?
What about your growing methods? Are you organic?
We are not certified organic, but grow happy and healthy vegetables with good practices. Most of your produce will be coming out of the field, although a portion will be grown in the aquaponics greenhouse. Expect the same ethics of care and quality that we put into our baking to go into the growing techniques of our produce.
Do you grow 100% of what's in my share?
A couple times a season we like to include an item from other local farmers that we haven't been able to grow ourselves, usually due to space constraints. We always ensure that the growing practices are in line with our own before we do so, and we will always let you know. Other than that, it's all from our gardens and greenhouse!
What if I miss a week?
What if I can't get someone to pick up for me?
If you miss your pick-up entirely, the vegetables will not be wasted! Unclaimed shares will be donated to a local food pantry.
